On the latest episode of The Kapil Sharma Show, the lead pair of Coolie No. 1, Varun Dhawan and Sara, were on the sets of the popular sketch-comedy series, with both stars revealing some interesting stories about each other.
While Varun Dhawan told host Kapil Sharma how everyone from Kartik Aryan and Ranbir Kapoor had warned him against working with Sara Ali Khan, Sara went on to disclose that Varun’s father and Director David Dhawan used to scold and reprimand him a lot during the shoot of Coolie No. 1 and at times, even she used to get caught in the crossfire.
The two actors also talked about their dating life, with Sara Ali Khan revealing how anybody whom she goes on a date with eventually runs away
Varun Dhawan conversely explained how easy it is for him to take anybody on a date to which Sara asks him to offer her some tips. Varun also let us in on some secrets about his other past costars and fellow Bollywood stars from the younger crop, like how Shraddha Kapoor is the laziest, Alia Bhatt is the least punctual and Kartik Aaryan flirts the most.
Meanwhile, one critic, Urmimala Banerjee gave Coolie No. 1 a measely 1.5 out of 5 stars in her review and wrote: “Honestly, there is very little to like about the film. The original movie was one that managed to make us laugh very naturally. We saw some great chemistry between actors like late Kader Khan, Sadashiv Amrapurkar and of course, Shakti Kapoor. The new version is a snazzier one and that’s about it.
The old film was funny in a more organic manner. The remake suffers from terribly lazy writing. The rhyming lines irritate rather than making us chuckle or laugh. Paresh Rawal disappoints big time. You will miss Kader Khan. You will wonder if the makers really needed to copy the film ditto and set it in a modern version.” Also Read – Sugandha Mishra on her exit from The Kapil Sharma Show: After Sunil Grover Ji left, there were many changes
